1.The Google employee who wrote the anti-diversity manifesto was fired after CEO Sundar Pichai called it “Not OK.” The engineer, who has been named as James Damore, sent a statement to Reuters.
2.Supporters raised more than $12,000 (£9,200) for arrested security researcher Marcus Hutchins after he couldn’t make bail. Hutchins has been accused by US prosecutors of helping to create and sell the Kronos banking trojan.
3.Apple is reportedly working to make the iPhone 8’s face scanner work even on flat surfaces. Leaked code from software for the upcoming HomePod references something called “Pearl” that could be the iPhone’s face scanner.
4.Uber cofounder and board member Garrett Camp said Travis Kalanick won’t be CEO again. “We are committed to hiring a new world-class CEO to lead Uber,” Camp said in an email to Uber employees.
