4.Microsoft unveils Phi-2, the next of its smaller, more nimble genAI models: Microsoft has revealed its latest small language model, Phi-2, which is designed to be faster and more efficient than large language models like GPT-3. Phi-2 has only 1.5 billion parameters, compared to GPT-3’s 175 billion, but it can still perform a wide range of natural language tasks, such as summarization, translation, and question answering. Microsoft claims that Phi-2 can outperform large language models that are 25 times its size on some benchmarks, and that it can run on a single GPU, making it more accessible and affordable for developers.
