1. Gmail can now let you know about package delays, thanks to a new ‘bump’ feature that puts shipping notifications at the top of your inbox. This feature is available for users in the US and Canada who have opted in to receive order updates from Google.

2. Microsoft Office apps, such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, are now available on Meta Quest headsets, allowing users to work in virtual reality. The apps can be accessed through the Horizon Workrooms app, which also supports video conferencing and white-boarding.
3. Google Groups will drop support for Usenet, one of the oldest forms of social media, by the end of January 2024. Usenet is a network of discussion groups that dates back to 1980, but has been largely replaced by web-based forums and platforms.
4. Google has quietly extended its testing of AI-generated search results, which use a language model called ChatGPT to provide conversational answers to queries. The pilot program was initially scheduled to end this month, but Google says it will continue exploring its potential replacement for link-based results.
5. The US government has issued an alert to tech makers, urging them to stop building products with default passwords, which can be easily exploited by hackers. The alert comes after a recent hack of water suppliers in the US, which involved the use of default passwords to access their systems.
6. AT&T claims that spam texts are down by a third, thanks to its efforts to block unwanted messages and enforce the STIR/SHAKEN protocol, which verifies the caller ID of phone calls. However, evidence from other sources suggests that the problem of spam texts is as bad as ever.
7. Dropbox users were alarmed to find a ‘Third-party AI’ setting turned on by default, which allows Dropbox to use artificial intelligence from OpenAI to enhance its features. Dropbox says that the AI is used to help users work faster in Dropbox, and that users can opt out of the setting at any time.
8. Enphase, a leading provider of solar energy solutions, has launched a range of smart chargers for electric vehicles, which can be integrated with its home energy system. The chargers can be controlled via a mobile app, and can optimize the use of solar power and battery storage.

The live streaming service says that it made a mistake in its policy update, and that nudity is still prohibited on Twitch, regardless of the source or context.
